Aviation Technology Insurance Services, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a California-licensed aviation insurance brokerage. We respect the privacy of every visitor to aviationtechnologyinsurance.com (the “Site”) and every consumer who provides personal information in connection with the products and services we broker. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices you have.

By using the Site or providing information through any of our forms, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or submit information through it.

1. Information We Collect

We collect personal information in two ways: information you provide directly, and information collected automatically when you visit the Site.

Information you provide

When you request a quote, contact us, sign up for our newsletter, or otherwise communicate with our office, we may collect:

• Identifying information such as your name, email address, telephone number, and mailing address.
• Information about the aircraft, hangar, school, drone, or operation you wish to insure, including registration numbers, year/make/model, valuation, base airport, and intended use.
• Pilot information such as certificate type, ratings, total flight hours, hours in type, and prior loss history.
• Existing policy details, current carrier, effective dates, and any information needed by an underwriter to evaluate the risk.
• Any additional details you choose to share in a free-text message, claim narrative, or attached document.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, our hosting and security providers may automatically log technical information such as your IP address, approximate location, browser type, device type, the pages you view, the time and date of access, and the referring website. We use a CAPTCHA service (Cloudflare Turnstile) on our forms to help distinguish humans from automated bots; this service may receive limited interaction data from your browser strictly for that purpose.

We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies or behavioral retargeting on the Site. The only cookies and similar technologies in use are those reasonably necessary to operate the Site and protect it from abuse.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide solely to deliver brokerage services and to operate our business. Typical uses include:

• Responding to your inquiry, preparing a quote, presenting coverage options, and helping you bind, renew, modify, or cancel a policy.
• Submitting required information to insurance carriers, underwriters, surplus-lines brokers, and other licensed parties whose participation is necessary to place or service your coverage.
• Communicating with you about your policy, premium payments, renewal dates, regulatory notices, and other servicing matters.
• Sending occasional aviation insurance updates, regulatory alerts, and event announcements if you have requested them. You may unsubscribe at any time.
• Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse of our forms, and unauthorized access.
• Complying with applicable law, including the California Insurance Code and Department of Insurance regulations governing recordkeeping, privacy, and licensing.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent your personal information. We do not share your personal information with marketers for their own promotional use.

3. Who We Share Information With

We share personal information only with parties who need it to help place, service, or pay claims on your insurance, or where the law requires us to do so. Categories include:

• Insurance carriers, underwriters, MGAs, and surplus-lines brokers involved in quoting, binding, or servicing the coverage you have requested.
• Premium finance companies if you choose to finance a premium.
• Service providers that host our website, send transactional and notification emails on our behalf, provide CAPTCHA / anti-abuse services, and store form submissions in our agency systems. These providers are bound by confidentiality and security obligations and may use the information only to perform services for us.
• Regulators, auditors, and law enforcement when required to comply with the California Insurance Code, subpoenas, court orders, or other valid legal process, or when reasonably necessary to protect our rights or the rights of others.
• Successors in connection with a merger, sale, reorganization, financing, or similar transaction involving the brokerage, subject to confidentiality protections.

4. Your California Rights

California law — including the California Insurance Information and Privacy Protection Act (Insurance Code §§ 791–791.27) and, where applicable, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA — gives California residents specific rights with respect to their personal information. These rights generally include:

• The right to know what personal information we have collected about you and how we have used and shared it.
• The right to access a copy of that information, subject to reasonable verification of your identity.
• The right to request correction of inaccurate personal information.
• The right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to exceptions for information we are required to retain by insurance, tax, anti-fraud, or other applicable law.
• The right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
• The right to direct that we not sell or share your personal information. As stated above, we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Sensitive and Medical Information

Some quote applications may include health information about a pilot, such as medical certificate status. We treat any such information as confidential, do not disclose it without your consent except as needed to place or service the coverage and as permitted by Insurance Code § 791.13, and do not use it for any purpose other than the brokerage service requested.

6. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Form submissions on this Site are transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and are stored on servers operated by reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide services to you, to comply with our legal and regulatory recordkeeping obligations as a California-licensed insurance broker, and to defend against potential claims. When information is no longer needed for any of these purposes, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for adults seeking aviation insurance. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including carrier payment portals. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this Privacy Policy does not apply to them. We encourage you to review the privacy notices of any site you visit.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. The most current version will always be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Material changes affecting how we use personal information will be highlighted at the top of the page or sent to active customers as required by law.
